KARACHI: Expressing disappointment over continues ‘snub’ from the Prime Minister, the President of the Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association (PBSA), Alamgir Sheikh said that the prime minister was the patron-in-chief of the Cricket Board, however he must pay attention to other sports as well. “Despite several requests in the past 5-6 months, I have failed to meet the prime minister even once, however, Najam Sethi, on the other hand, has been very lucky in this regard”, said Alamgir Sheikh, while talking to this correspondent for News One TV.
“If this is the criteria, then the PBSA is even ready to offer the patron-ship of the Association to the Prime Minister”, added Alamgir Sheikh, who reiterated that despite repeated pledges the reward money of national players, amounting around Rs 28 million, is still awaited.
The president, PBSA claimed that no other sport had brought more laurels to the country, in the past two years, then Snooker, hence, he felt, the PBSA deserved special attention from the Prime Minister.
“We are working with the local federations but the blessing of the Prime Minister a must to carry out important tasks such as establishing academies and measures to create job opportunities for players”, concluded Alamgir Sheikh
